Mission Series:  ARTIS (External)

Though not ASRI-sponsored missions, the ARTIS Mission Series – conceived and developed by a private Dutch corporation, SpaceBorn United Inc. (SBU) – will focus on application of clinical IVF biotechnology in microgravity environments, employing Assisted Reproductive Technology in Space (ARTIS).  Earlier ARTIS missions will attempt in-orbit IVF fertilization and development of mouse embryos, with follow-on experiments using human embryos to validate the possibility of IVF-driven conception in space. You can learn more about the ARTIS missions here.
